I have just woken up to this, like the sun breaking through clouds on a miserable birthday morning – the result of a sudden, unexpected collaboration with the novelist and blogger, Vickie Lester. Her account of how it came out reads like the beginning of a new mystery novel, which you can read here on the ever Beguiling Hollywood. I am very excited to play a small part in it. All the words and images are hers alone. Thank you, Vickie, for an adventure and a pleasure!

The mix was the brilliant Ms Lester’s idea – I didn’t to sound like Mrs Thatcher playing the Hollywood Bowl – but we decided against my putting on a naff American accent. Can’t wait to read her next beguiling novel.

Your recording/reading of Vickie’s work was fantastic! Like a previous commenter said, the mix of your English tones and her style of writing worked really well.
Vickie’s novel was so much fun to read. I DID NOT see that ending coming.

Happy Birthday Pippa. My very best wishes. Shame it’s so dull and rainy.
Great to hear your voice on Vickie’s blog. I have to confess, it is exactly how I expected it to sound, and that is meant in a good way, believe me. I liked the juxtaposition of the perfectly clipped English tones and the pulp-fiction style of writing. It worked very well indeed.
Regards as always, Pete. X
